Can was a German experimental rock band that was active between 1968 and 1979. The group was formed in Cologne by keyboardist Irmin Schmidt, vocalist Malcolm Mooney, bassist Holger Czukay, guitarist Michael Karoli, and drummer Jaki Liebezeit. The band was known for their pioneering use of tape loops, synthesisers, non-traditional song structures, and early use of sampling.

Some of their standout albums include Tago Mago (1971), Future Days (1973), and Ege Bamyasi (1972). Some of their most well-known songs include "Moonshake," "Vitamin C," "I Want More," and "Halleluhwah."

An interesting fact about Can is that they are credited as a major influence on many contemporary genres such as Krautrock, post-punk, and ambient music. They have also been cited as an influence by many prominent artists such as David Bowie, John Lydon, and Brian Eno.
