  • "Briefcase Full Of Blues" is the Blues Brothers debut album, originally released in 1978.

The BLUES BROTHERS, whose correct name was The Blues Brothers Show Band And Revue, was created by the comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as a comedy tribute to the R&B and was originally a sketch on the American Saturday Night Live Show.

Belushi ("Joliet Jake") and Aykroyd as "Elwood Blues" led a band of well-known musicians.

Shortly after the first three appearances, the band became a sure-fire success outside of television and released the album "Briefcase Full Of Blues", only to be honoured by Hollywood in the cult classic "The Blues Brothers".

The tracklist of "Briefcase Full Of Blues" includes cover versions of Otis Redding, Junior Wells, Pink Floyd and many more.

Jake and Elwood were reinforced by the Stax heroes Donald "Duck" Dunn, Steve Cropper and Paul Shaffer.

The album peaked at # 1 on the Billboard 200 and was awarded two times platinum.

"Rubber Biscuit" as a single reached number 37 on the Billboard Hot 100, while "Soul Man" claimed number 14 for itself.
