Bill Evans was an American jazz pianist and composer, who was born in Plainfield, New Jersey in 1929. He is considered one of the most influential jazz pianists of all time and his unique approach to harmony and improvisation has been widely praised.

Evans began playing the piano at age six and became a professional musician in his early twenties. He was a member of Miles Davis's band in 1959 and 1960, and went on to form a trio with bassist Scott LaFaro and drummer Paul Motian. This trio released several acclaimed albums, including Sunday at the Village Vanguard, Waltz for Debby, and Trio 64.

His other standout albums include Conversations with Myself, The Bill Evans Album, and Moon Beams. Some of his best known songs include “Waltz for Debby,” “Peace Piece,” “My Foolish Heart,” and “Someday My Prince Will Come.”

An interesting fact about Bill Evans is that he was an early adopter of the Fender Rhodes electric piano, using it on several of his albums.
