Issued in 1972, it features her most celebrated material from the Hi Records era, including the aching “I Feel Like Breaking Up Somebody’s Home Tonight” and the bruised “Trouble, Heartaches & Sadness”. Peebles’ voice is at once cool, wounded and commanding, giving the songs a rare mix of vulnerability and authority. Rooted in Southern soul and shaped by the Memphis studio sound, the album helped confirm her as one of the era’s most distinctive female singers.

Artist: Ann Peebles

Label: Fat Possum Records, Hi Records – FPH1410-1

Format: LP, Album, Reissue, Remastered, Stereo

Units: 1

Country: US

Released: 2015

Genre:
          Soul & Funk

Style:

            Soul

A1 Slipped, Tripped And Fell In Love
A2 Trouble, Heartaches & Sadness
A3 What You Laid On Me
A4 How Strong Is A Woman
A5 Somebody'S On Your Case
B1 I Feel Like Breaking Up Somebody'S Home Tonight
B2 I'Ve Been There Before
B3 I Pity The Fool
B4 99 Pounds
B5 I Take What I Want
