Led by singles such as See Those Eyes and I Could Be Happy, it showed the group balancing post-punk energy with glossy, chart-ready songwriting. Released in 1983, the album built on the success of the group’s earlier singles while pushing singer Clare Grogan’s bright, expressive voice into a sleeker pop-rock setting. Its best-known song, Don’t Talk to Me About Love, became a major breakthrough and helped define the album’s profile, while the rest of the record balances melodic immediacy with a cleaner, more mature approach than the band’s early work. Issued in 1984, this compilation draws on the Scottish band’s early new wave and synth-pop era, when Claire Grogan’s distinctive vocals and the group’s bright, punchy arrangements helped turn songs like Happy Birthday and Don’t Talk To Me About Love into memorable pop statements. The set highlights the band’s blend of giddy energy, glossy hooks and post-punk edge, showing why Altered Images became one of the most recognisable British pop acts of the early 1980s. It works as both an introduction and a neat summary of their early peak.

Artist: Altered Images

Label: Epic – EPC 25973

Format: LP, Compilation

Units: 1

Country: UK

Released: 1984

Genre:
          Pop & Rock

Style:

            New Wave,

            Pop Rock,

            Synth-Pop

A1 Happy Birthday
A2 Insects
A3 See Those Eyes
A4 A Day'S Wait
A5 I Could Be Happy (Dance Mix)
A6 Song Sung Blue
B1 Bring Me Closer (Dance Mix)
B2 Change Of Heart
B3 Love To Stay
B4 Pinky Blue
B5 Don'T Talk To Me About Love
B6 Dead Pop Stars

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1474/5258/files/LTMyODcuanBlZw_6065763e-0596-4709-8115-3063d8e22542.jpg?v=1791963981
