Stanley Black (1913-2002) was an English bandleader, composer and pianist. He was known for his expertise in a variety of musical styles, from light classical to Latin American, from jazz to film music. He was also a conductor, arranger and producer.
Stanley Black's first album was released in 1935, and he continued to make albums until 1975. His most popular albums include Serenata Espanola (1952), Cuban Rhythms (1954) and Latin American Music (1959).
Some of Stanley Black's most notable songs include "Tico Tico" (1945), "Manha de Carnaval" (1956), "El Choclo" (1959), "Moonlight Serenade" (1960) and "Besame Mucho" (1962).
An interesting fact about Stanley Black is that he composed the music for the iconic BBC television series, Doctor Who. He was also the first British artist to be signed by Decca Records in 1936.
